The future grows out of history.
In collaboration with GHZ Architekten and more than 50 specialized contractors—most of whom are local—the new Appenberg is taking shape step by step. Seven historic houses are being carefully renovated, with their facades gently restored and complemented with woodwork. Paths, plazas, and gardens are being designed to make it easier to find your way around and to make spending time outdoors even more enjoyable.
The center is opened.
In the main building, we’re creating a sense of clarity and spaciousness. A careful demolition makes way for a contemporary addition. The restaurant and reception area are being redesigned. The attic will become a hall for special events. An open bar, a cozy lounge, and bright areas in the foyer combine arrival, interaction, and relaxation. Co-learning zones and harmonious outdoor areas promote togetherness, focus, and creative breaks.
The Infrastructure of the Future.
Following the renovation, the hotel will feature 48 guest rooms, eight seminar rooms, and eight group rooms, as well as a fitness area. In addition, there will be a restaurant and terrace, each seating 80 guests, two banquet halls, a bar, a lounge, the Fondue Spycher, and a spacious wine cellar. All work spaces will be equipped with the latest technology, modular furniture, and improved soundproofing. Hotel and seminar facilities are clearly separated yet operate in close proximity to one another. Outside, there will be quiet retreats such as the herb garden and gathering areas like the village square.
New additions include a banquet hall on the top floor for private celebrations and a mobile seminar room set amidst the greenery.
Outdoor Spaces and Accessibility.
The grounds of the hotel village are also being redesigned to significantly enhance social interaction and the quality of the guest experience. We are improving accessibility for all guests. New paths will connect various parts of the grounds, and access routes with a maximum gradient of 12% along with additional entrances will improve wayfinding, safety, and comfort for everyone.
