This has not gone unnoticed in the industry: The hotel village has been nominated by GastroSuisse for the 2025 Hotel Innovation Award, which the industry association presents to recognize innovative hotel concepts.
Awarded for a forward-thinking hotel concept
The Appenberg was nominated by GastroSuisse for the 2025 Hotel Innovation Award—and has made it to the finals. The award recognizes innovative concepts and ideas that provide new impetus for the Swiss hotel industry.
The fact that the Appenberg is included, even though its reopening isn’t scheduled until late fall 2026, shows that our concept is making an impression.
The jury praised the vision of a hotel village that reimagines the traditional conference experience—with flexible work and social spaces that combine digital possibilities with analog retreats.
For us, this nomination is a wonderful sign: that our ideas are already being recognized and appreciated. And that innovation begins precisely where people have the courage to think differently.
The Appenberg will open its doors in late fall 2026—for seminars, workshops, banquets, and getaways in the heart of the Emmental.
