Cheese-Making Experience — Make Your Own Cheese
How is milk actually turned into cheese? At Chäsi Eyweid, you can roll up your sleeves and work together to make your own wheel of cheese. Or you can take a guided tour of the cheese cellar and learn just how much craftsmanship and patience go into making good cheese. If you’d like, you can round out the experience with a delicious cheese aperitif.
Making Your Own Cheese
Become a cheesemaker for a day! Under expert guidance, you’ll work together to make a semi-hard cheese weighing about 5 to 6 kilograms from fresh milk. Afterward, you’ll take a guided tour of the cheese cellar, where your cheese will be carefully aged for about four months until you’re ready to pick it up.
Guided Tour of the Cheese Cellar
What does it take to turn fresh milk into fine cheese? During a guided tour lasting about 45 minutes, you’ll gain fascinating insights into the cheese-making process and explore the cheese cellar at Chäsi Eyweid. You’ll learn just how much knowledge, care, and patience go into every wheel of cheese.
Cheese Appetizer
After making your own cheese or taking the tour, you’re of course welcome to sample some. If you’d like, you can enjoy a relaxing aperitif with a selection of cheeses from Chäsi Eyweid, accompanied by a variety of breads and complementary beverages.
